Mette Honoré — Danish author of Tubby Tilda Tooth Fairy

The book

Tubby Tilda Tooth Fairy — a children's book published in English by Austin Macauley Publishers, New York, 2019.

It is a warm, slightly chaotic story about a tooth fairy who is not quite built for flying, and about being good at your job in your own way. Like everything else I write, it grew out of more than three decades spent close to children.

Poetry: contributor to the anthologies Leaving and Stardust, Hammond House Publishing, UK, 2021–2022.

A further title, What the Wind Still Knows (Danish: Hvad vinden stadig ved), is in progress and not yet published.

About me

I am a Danish author, early-years teacher and educational developer, based in Svendborg, Denmark. For more than thirty years I have worked with children starting school, with classroom communities, emotional language and the cooperation between families and schools.

I write children's books and picture books, and I develop teaching materials about relationships, belonging and participation. Most of my work is published in Danish; Tubby Tilda Tooth Fairy and my poetry are in English.
