I have spent more than three decades close to the place where people try to make everyday life work together.
I am an author, early-years teacher, educational developer and idea maker. My working life has moved between children, schools, day care, families, literature and idea development.
I have worked with children from toddlers to teenagers, and for many years with school starts, children's communities, cooperation with parents, participation and relational practice.
My strength is building bridges between practice, analysis and development. I can listen my way into a problem, see patterns, create structure and put it into words other people can work on.
I do not only write to explain. I write to create direction.
I work inquisitively, but with my feet on the ground. Philosophy and psychology interest me, and so does the reality people face at 8.12 on a Monday morning.

I do not think people mainly need more systems. I think we need to get better at seeing.
Seeing the child behind the behaviour. The person behind the reaction. The relationship around the problem. And our own responsibility as adults.

Mette Honoré is an author, educational developer, early-years teacher and idea maker. She has more than 30 years of practical experience with children, families and professionals, and has written around 20 books and publications for children, young people and adults.
Her work moves between literature, education, relationships and concept development, with a particular interest in turning observations from real life into new stories, materials and concrete tools.

Mette Honoré works at the intersection of practice, relational pedagogy, psychology, philosophy, literature and creative concept development.
As an early-years teacher she still stands in the middle of the reality her development work grows out of: starting school, children's communities, relationships, cooperation with parents, and children who do not always find an easy way into existing structures.
Notice → wonder → investigate → create → try out.
Over the years she has written a long list of books for children and young readers, among them the Hermann series, the Karoline books, Carrie CPH, Mobbemåsen, Hvem er du, Alvin? and Tubby Tilda Tooth Fairy.
Today she also develops new educational and relational concepts. What they have in common is a wish not only to describe problems, but to make something people can actually use.
