Livets strøm is Debora H. Kleist's novel about Ida, who has just finished upper secondary school in Nuuk and parties her way through the summer with her friend Rie while wondering what to do with her life. When she is admitted to the University of Copenhagen she meets high demands, prejudice and a new love — and slowly becomes surer of who she is.
The book gives a voice to contemporary Greenlandic youth and was published by Milik Publishing in 2024. The Greenlandic title is Sarsuatitat.
I was the editor of the book. Editing means reading someone else's text forward: holding on to the author's voice while helping the story stand as clearly as possible.
The novel is nominated for the Nordic Council Literature Prize 2026.
