The book is about children's thoughts on God and on the big questions — above all, what happens when we die.
Alvin and his friend Vera go looking for God in his own house. Along the way they touch on creation, evolution, believing differently — and the grief of losing someone. In the end they arrive at the idea that God is love.
It is written for reading aloud and for conversation between children and adults about faith, death and wonder.
The Danish teachers' journal Folkeskolen reviewed the Alvin books in 2013: “The Alvin books are fine, usable books … the author strikes a fine balance.
